This is a redesign of the existing Amalgam Comics' character, Hyena. He is an amalgam of Dc Comics' the Joker, and Marvel Comics' Sabertooth.
I really liked the idea of this character, but never liked the design of his costume. This is the way I believe he should have looked.

The Joker is owned by DC Comics
Sabertooth is owned by Marvel Comics
Hyena is owned by both DC and Marvel.

This comes at a pretty coincidental time, since I'm getting some Amalgam comics this week including one of Dark Claw. Of course, the bad thing is I won't be at my place to receive them, hoping a roomate will bring in the package...

When I first heard of Hyena I flipped out due to how perfect it is. Wolverine's main enemy (the way I think of it), Batman's main enemy, and the name was perfectly chosen.

I just left two stories without saying a single thing about your pic... Mostly because I haven't seen mich of the original Hyena. In this pic, I don't know wether I should be afraid, due to the leopard prints and big claws, or laugh, because of the green and purple covering the rest of him. I guess that's the desired effect from him. Also, did he use guns? Doesn't seem like he would...

Is his backhair really that bushy and thick, or is that synthetic and part of his costume? If it is his back hair, are there holes in the costume allowing it to flow through? If they're synthetic, then Kraven and his furry lion-vest thing could have been one of your inspirations.

Really, my inspiration was the original design of Hyena. My guess is, that the hair is synthetic, and part of the costume, but designed to match his real hair color. That was also the reason I gave him green fingernails.
